« Since 1987, I have photographed Chinese acrobatic acts at performances and circus festivals in Paris, Verona, Monte Carlo, and in China. The real subject of my photographs are the acrobats themselves and thus I try to show as little as possible of the background. I am taking the photograph from the point of view of the acrobat and not of the spectator. »
